đšââïž A recognized practice: colonic water irrigation (or cleansing enema) can be indicated in cases of chronic or occasional constipation in adults, discomfort or sluggish bowels, as well as for the elimination of fecal impaction. An enema may also be prescribed in preparation for an endoscopic or radiological examination or before surgery. Before use, seek advice from your doctor: enemas may be inadvisable in certain cases for sensitive individuals, and their practice should remain occasional.
Tips for using the Enema Bulb
1- Fill the bulb with lukewarm water or the enema solution prescribed by your doctor. Screw on the nozzle and lubricate it with vegetable oil or a lubricating gel.
2- For anal use, lie down in your bathtub on your side or back and pull your knees toward your chest. Alternatively, while seated on the toilet, lean slightly forward. For vaginal use, position yourself in the shower, standing with legs apart, or seated on the toilet.
3- In one of these positions, insert the lubricated nozzle into the anus (or vagina) and squeeze the bulb slowly with constant pressure. The water enters the rectum and will detach fecal matter from the intestinal walls.
4- Once the bulb is empty, remove the cannula from the anus. Let the liquid drain freely into the toilet. The same applies to vaginal use.
Vaginal irrigation should not be performed excessively, as this risks unbalancing the vaginal microbial flora. In case of doubt, ask your doctor for advice.
Maintenance tip: After each use, separate the components (cannula and reservoir) and wash them with soapy water or an antiseptic solution. Rinse and let dry. Store in a cool, dry place away from light.
